Information
What is "Chronometry"?
Psychologist Arthur Jensen noted that Reaction Time (RT) tasks can reveal the underlying "neural oscillation clock" of the brain. When we measure the speed and variability of reactions, we are essentially estimating the rhythm and stability of neural excitation/inhibition cycles. Faster, less variable reaction times are often seen as indicators of higher-frequency, lower-noise neural timing mechanisms, and are thought to correlate with g (general intelligence factor).
